Dear fellow fan fiction writers:
If you tag your fic with M or NC-17 without any other indication as to why it has that rating (like violence, gore etc.), I’m going to expect smut, ok? Juicy, mouth drying, how-did-my-eyes-get-this-close-to-my-screen, dirty smut. Smut, as in dirty, dirty written porn.
Why on Earth would you tag your fic with M, if there’s absolutely nothing to warrant that rating? That’s like promising me an actual pony, and then giving me a stuffed animal instead.
